Ending Times

Last week of classes, last sets of meetings, last games, and last partyings...a lot of last things going on in my life over the past few days. After Spring Weekend, everything was moving in fast-forward with something new to do everyday, only to pick up again next week. It's the beginning of May and I still haven't quite got my summer plans together which is probably clouding over everything I need to do before the school year actually ends--but I'm sure whatever happens it will be okay :) In other news, Happy May Day! Who knows were April went, but here we are in May already. I never actually knew what May Day was celebrating, and when I looked it up I was quite surprised to see that May 1st is celebrated as International Workers' Day or Labour Day in many countries around the world. In addition, May 1st used to be designated as the first day of summer (and June 21st was the Midsummer/Summer Solstice). And today being a Saturday and a beautiful 70+ degree day, this doe...

Archipelg-a Show!

Tomorrow's my first spoken word show ever ever! It's the 15th anniversary of the creation of my spoken word group, Archipelag-a...which basically means, 15 pieces to celebrate 15 years in 1 show!!!! It's been a crazy time trying to memorize everything, but I'm definitely so glad that I'm around for this performance. In addition to re-living 3 of my favorite pieces since I've been in the group, my suitemates and I teamed up and rewrote 2 older pieces and made them into some really special stuff. More to come for sure, but if you're in the Providence, RI area please be sure to come by our show! Archipelag-a's 15th Anniversary Reunion Show 7pm-8:30pm, 6pm reception Rites and Reason Theatre, on Angell St. between Brown and Thayer St.

After a whirlwind first two days, the three of us took a break in suburbia, namely Pleasanton and San Jose. We stayed with my aunt, uncle, and grandma (on my dad's side) in Pleasanton, and basically relaxed all day in suburbia. Pleasanton is exactly how it sounds...pleasant, quiet, spacious, and oh-so-SUBURB. My relatives live at the base of a hill where the houses get increasingly more and more expensive and expansive. We took my grandma's SUV out for a spin while I tried to play tour guide for Sonia and Cherilyn...basically it just ended up that I drove through a bunch of residential neighborhoods. I know I'm not really a city city girl, but living in a suburb when I'm older would definitely be a big change for me. I find that I frequently ask myself, would I be able to live in a suburb? I'm sure I'd make it work, I did love the Gilmore Girls ;) The next day in San Jose was more relaxing and chilling in the 'burbs. We stayed at the home of a friend from Br...
