Summerness

I had a couple ideas of what to blog about when I got home, but unfortunately my days have been eaten up by watching NBA playoff games and season finales (a topic for another day). I did go to the beach with one of my friends from HS and her friend from college, which was really nice because we just lounged on the sand and caught up. I don't even have a car to go on my aimless wandering joy-rides and trips to the library :( So what is there to blog about? Shopping excursions I suppose :)

In general it's almost like an extra welcome home gift to shop with my mom at the good ole Del Amo Mall in Torrance, even though they don't have a Nordstroms (which is totally fine with me because I still don't know what to buy when I'm at a Nordstroms...besides makeup lol) Del Amo has just about every other store...including two Macys, yeah that's right two of the same department store...which doesn't make much sense except Robinsons' May was taken over by Macys some years back and now we have 2 Macys. Anyways, here's the short list (aka just the noteworthy things) that I've picked up since coming home:

1. Big & Bright Eyeliner from bareMinerals (Plum) - My mom loves blue and purple eyeshadows/liners for me...no idea why but she does. And I guess I needed a pencil-y eyeliner anyway, even though I've been cheating and just using black eyeshadow as a liner, this will hopefully last longer. So far I can say it has a nice color, not too harsh since it's purple, but not a kiddie shade. And I heard purple's supposed to be nice for dark/brown eyes?

2. a.n.a. denim shorts and cropped pants from JCPenney - they were BOGO for $0.99, so I grabbed a couple. Last summer I was lucky (in my opinion) and avoided wearing too many denim shorts because my summer job was business-wear. But alas, I know I have to accept it eventually, I can't wear tights and leggings forever ;) So instead of stealing shorts from my mom, I gave in and tried some on. I like these cuz they were cheap, their sizes seemed to run larger (ego boost to buy things in a smaller size lol), and they weren't super short! Yay for attempts at modesty haha.

3. Knit cover ups from Macys (white and grey) - again with the sales, but Macys was having a BOGO free for certain "Junior tops" which included sweaters, vests, dresses, shirts, and blouses. I also got a sleeveless coverup type thing in grey...I'm trying to modernize my wardrobe!

4. Various tops (from the BOGO sale and Clearance racks) - an assortment of Elaine-style dresses, oversized button down shirts (maybe I'm going hipster?), and typical summer blouses

I know I should add pics, but I'm in a bit of a bind because I'm actually headed to VEGAS! and wanted to post before I left. Hopefully some nice adventures to blog about when I get back :) Until then, yay summer!
