A Rhode Island Fourth of July Weekend
Saturday - Indie Art Festival by the Sea at Fort Adams (Newport, RI) In an act of spontaneity (my favorite kind of act), I found myself making the trek out to Newport for the second Saturday in a row, this time with Robin , Matt, & the gang. Taking the 60 Ripta on a beautiful Saturday afternoon turned into a bit of a bumpy ride with half the bus being filled with Summer@Brown high school students (and that was only the ride there, the ride back was a whole other tale). Making our way to the Gateway Visitors' Center, we somehow came to the conclusion that walking the 3.2 mi to Fort Adams would be the most cost-effective method of getting to the festival. View Larger Map We felt a little bit silly, and quite a bit exhausted, when we reached Fort Adams and could see that the path that we had taken resembled that of a giant U--though we did feel accomplished for walking the whole way.
