5 Favorite Posts

Hi Everyone,

Taking a break from the comp exam writing to catch up on the Blog Everyday in May posts...today's is 5 Favorite posts from your own blog, what an interesting topic! So I took the opportunity to look in my archives and blogger stats and here's what I've come up with :)

My Attempt at Jumping Into the "Fashion Blog" world:

I was super obsessed with this convertible Victoria's Secret dress. Turns out making it look like the model's pics was a lot a lot harder than it looked.

It was a little bit of "paying it forward" and a little bit of bragging, but I was really proud of my mostly Japanese farewell speech. Since I had gotten a lot of help from another blog and from my friends, it was only fitting to post my speech to maybe someday help another ALT looking for some ideas.

It's funny because I have all of these maiko pictures on a CD, but I don't know what to do with them really...part of me wonders if this practice of dressing foreigners up for pictures is a kind of cultural appropriation. Of course it was lots of fun to wear the traditional clothing and be posed and take pictures, but what's the point of it? #stilllearning

Even though I'm not exactly going to be a teacher anymore, I firmly believe that I will continue striving to be an educator in some way, shape, or form. :)

I'm definitely biased with this one. Starting September off in Santa Barbara still feels like a magical day :) From the wonderful weather to running into the wedding to laying in the sand as the sun went down, I would definitely be in a different place in life if this day hadn't happened. The funny thing is, I didn't even know it at the time I wrote the post. So that's definitely a fun surprise when given the opportunity to look back at past posts, sometimes experiences that just seem like a fun thing to share turn out to be really impactful moments.

Hope you've enjoyed taking a hop back in time with me :)
Until next time!
