Place Memory...
...can refer to many things, but today I am thinking that it has something to do with what happens with a person returns somewhere after some period of time and can't help but remember the previous visits there.
Symptoms include:
- Frequently beginning sentences with "Last time I was here" or "Where I was here last time"
- Comparing one's surroundings to those of the previous visit
- Remembering one's mental state and life state during the previous visit, and reflecting upon whether or not one has changed much since that time
Caution:
Place Memory and associated symptoms can be triggered by a variety of factors. One may be going about normal daily activity (such as walking or buying food) and suddenly recall a moment from the past.
Don't be alarmed, that feeling that time is passing both slowly and quickly is completely normal...
And no...that fear that you have about time passing so quickly that you will one day wake up and find yourself weeks, months, or years in the future...it's shouldn't happen exactly in that way. But yes, you should be aware that changes happen in life all the time.

The last stop on my mom's whirlwind tour of Kansai was Nara, the quaint and tourist-friendly historical mecca of Japan. We explored the beautiful area where many of the tourists go, and since I had first come to this area in mid-August just a few weeks after getting to Japan, I couldn't help but fall into so many thinking tangents about "how I was back then" to "how I am now" and "how things were back then" and "how things are now". Everything from my emotions, my state of mind, and even how I thought about things, just so many thoughts swirling about my head because I couldn't shake off the desire to understand how I was back then, how I am now, how there are or aren't differences.
But in general there aren't many conclusions to come of this kind of thinking...
