Somewhat hilarious fragments of my thoughts on love

**disclaimer, this was almost 7 YEARS ago!

Today I was looking through my old comcast and yahoo emails looking for something (because 5 years ago, Valentine's Day was pretty epic) and instead, I found this in an email to my buddy Lulu! <3

"see, i was watching Gilmore Girls, you know of them? anyway, there's this guy, Luke, and he's like really good friends with Lorelei, and you know that they have a thing for each other, but neither of them realize it--anyway, what my point is, i totally love their relationship because, in addition to it being soo adorable how they act together, it's like, they're friends, and they'll always be, no matter what happens...and i especially love whenever Luke gets overly concerned about Lorelei, he's all overprotective and goes to beat up whatever jerk hurt her feelings, it's sooo cute....so i've come to a deduction---
The best relationship (b/w a guy and a girl):

1. must begin as friends

2. both people must be mutually respected

3. they must care for one another (i know, it's all the basics, but hey, hear me out)

4. at some point, one must have liked the other while they were attached or not able to like them back

5. each must know how the other takes his/her coffee

6. each must have stood the other one up (ie. a "date" to repaint the diner) and that person must make it up to the other person, thereby showing that although they are unreliable at times, they will always remember to make it up (lol do you like these?)

7. they have to have known each other, at least a little while, before hooking up (i'd say at least a year, but is that reasonable?)

8. at some point, each will have wanted to express his/her feelings, only to realize it wasn't the right time (ie the other person gets engaged, family member died)

9. instead of giving up on their feelings, the person who wanted to express his/her feelings must be as good a friend as possible

10. they must have each done the other person a favor (ie, buy a present for the other person's significant other, fixing the other person's roof)

11. they must see one another frequently (or the every morning that Luke and Lorelei see one another)

12. they must each be over the age of 16 (truly, i think 18, or even 21, but who knows these days, make note, this is for a lasting relationship)

13. and of course, they have to be willing to love them will all of their quirks, bad habits, attitude adjustments, and excess baggage (ie, a 16-yr-old daughter)"

LOL and the funny thing is...a bunch of that is still pretty true to me. I guess just the fact that I had expressed it so bluntly and just expressed it at all, it just really brought a smile to my face thinking about being young ;)
